Saturday March 18 Wine Tasting!
March 18, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Veramonte – 2018 Rose Pinot Noir
Bright nose of tart apricot and white flowers. Subtle fruit on the palate with a zingy peach on the mid-palate. Delicious! $8 Bottle
Podere Ciona – 2013 Merlot
Grown at high altitude in Chianti Classico (approximately 1,800 feet above sea level), this Merlot from Podere Ciona is remarkably clear in style and tension, with stinging, bright red fruits, subtle smoky notes, and a firm-bodied lushness that befits exceptional Merlot. This decadent, feminine wine is one of our favorites and if you should find one of the few available bottles, it is a wine not to be missed! 92% Merlot, 8% Alicante Bouschet. Received scores in the low 90’s. Very fruit forward for a ten year old wine. $30 Bottle
Borne of Fire – 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
Borne of Fire is a Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from a remote new vineyard region in eastern Washington State known by locals as “The Burn.” This exciting region was named from legends of early settlers who set fire to the land in the fall to replenish and rejuvenate the grasslands for their horses in the spring.
“A sappy wine that is made on stalks, which delivers a lighter and more lacy feel that’s counterintuitive. The fruit sits in a redcurrant and red-plum zone with a light, lithe and fresh style. Cabernet re-imagined. Drink now.” 92 Points James Suckling $15 Bottle
Headturner – 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Nerve
Dark fruit and earthy at first, heavy tannins you immediately feel on your tongue, but finishes very smooth on an almost pastry, jam and cream caramel note. Beautiful wine! $20 Bottle
Peter Williams – 2018 Syrah Lot B-42
“Briary black fruits are backed by a toasted cashew note in this rich red. The overall balance is spot-on, with ample acidity and tannins but nothing dominating. Drink this supple and tasty wine through 2026.” Paul Gregutt 92 Points Wine Enthusiast
This Syrah is coming from a small winery in Medford and is made in very small batches. A nationally recognized wine from a very small local producer. $21 Bottle
