Saturday Wine Tasting March 25, 2023
March 25, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Benton Lane – 2019 First Class Chardonnay
The 2019 Benton-Lane Chardonnay is elegant and nuanced, with aromas of jasmine, honeydew melon, key lime and lemon thyme. Flavors of meyer lemon, white peach, quince, and freshly baked tart are highlighted on the palate, along with a broad, creamy mouthfeel that finishes focused and long. $23 ($40 a bottle most other places)
Laurelwood – 2017 Pinot Noir – Grown in the Willamette Valley.
Silky, vibrant and complex, with hints of blackberry, cherry and currant. Balanced undertones of mineral character on the finish. Destemmed, whole berry fermented in 1.5 ton open-top bins, hand punched. Aged in neutral French oak barrels, preserving the fruit with minimal winemaker intervention. Crafted in small lots. $10 a bottle
Navarro Correas – 2018 Red Blend(Malbec/Cabernet/Merlot)
Good argentine blend with deep maroon color. Medium low tannins and acidity and medium body. Notes of ripe red fruit, oak and a hint of pepper. $10 a bottle
Layer Cake – 2017 Sea of Stones Red Blend(Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cab Franc)
The Layer Cake Sea of Stones red blend is extremely dense and concentrated. Opaque purple, almost black in color, the aroma is full of ripe black fruit, grilled bread, pencil lead, wet stones, lavender, blueberry pie, and black cherry. On the palate there is layer upon layer of savory fruit, spice notes, espresso, and dark chocolate as well as rich, creamy texture. The aromas and flavors carry on long after the wine is gone from your mouth, the finish taunting you to have another sip. $8 a bottle
Primaterra – 2016 Sangiovese
True to variety with Sangioveses signature cherry aromas, pronounced yet balanced acidity. The finish is clean and quite gentle with a lovely lingering note of spice. $8 a bottle
