Saturday $2 Tasting
February 18, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Four weeks strong and we can now call this a “regular” thing. This Saturday we are bringing to the tasting table Four Big Reds and one local Bubble. The even runs from noon until 4pm. I hope to see you here!
Hunter’s Ridge – 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon – The Hunter’s Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon combines rich aromas of dried cherry and plum with flavors of toasted oak and tobacco. This cab is as delicious as it is complex. It is best paired with grilled meats and vegetables, and great on its own. A truly great value for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon $20
Red Rock – 2018 Malbec Reserve – This wine from Argentina has dark berry fruit flavors and subtle dark spices. Graphite, leather and cherry on the nose. Good structure, nice tannins with a lot of red fruit on the palate. Pairs really well with cheese, poultry, and ribs. You can’t go wrong with this wine for $8 a bottle.
Layer Cake – 2017 Sea of Stone Red Blend – The Layer Cake Sea of Stones red blend is extremely dense and concentrated. Opaque purple, almost black in color, the aroma is full of ripe black fruit, grilled bread, pencil lead, wet stones, lavender, blueberry pie, and black cherry. Once again, a nice big red for only $8 a bottle.
Columbia Winery – 2015 Syrah Horse Haven Hills – Aged in 54% new French, American and Hungarian barrels, this seems dominated by oak, with aromas and flavors of chocolate, vanilla and ash overshadowing its blueberry and flower notes. This is another BIG RED. We have it for sale at $25 a bottle. This wine can age for another 5-7 years, so write a love letter to yourself on the bottle and stash one a way for a few years!
Sea O2 – 2017 Sparkling Rose from the Willamette Valley. This SeaO2 comes all the way from Philomath! After four bigs, this glass of sparkling will bring down the intensity. A great price for a local sparkle at $10
